What I'll fight for
Human Services & Safety Net
Dakota County receives 2.9% of state crisis funds while representing 8% of the population. The ARPA dollars that built the county's crisis system are running out. Protecting these services is the first priority.
Children & Families
Child protection, early childhood programs, and youth mental health services are infrastructure — not luxuries to trim when budgets tighten. Nearly a third of Lakeville residents are under 18.
Public Safety
The county has embedded social workers across the majority of its public safety agencies. Genuine safety requires accountability, crisis intervention capacity, and investment in the conditions that prevent harm.
Fiscal Stewardship
Dakota County's structural fund balance sits at 8% — well below the State Auditor's recommended floor. With the lowest per-capita levy in the metro, the next term demands honest, data-driven decisions about where resources go.
